Looking towards Blagdon Hill, Bokerley Dyke (or Ditch), a Romano-British defensive earthwork with origins possibly in the Bronze Age, is seen on the right at the point where it is crossed by Grim’s Ditch, another Bronze Age earthwork. Bokerley Dyke forms part of the boundary between Hampshire and Dorset, and also of Martin Down, a chalk downland nature reserve in Hampshire.
