Pero’s Bridge, a pedestrian bascule bridge spanning St Augustines’ Reach in the redeveloped harbour and dock area of Bristol opened in 1999. Pero was an 18C slave brought to Bristol by a merchant. Known as The Horned bridge, due the shape of the counterweights.
