The Royal Oak, or Boscobel Oak, near Boscobel House, Shropshire, in which Charles II is said to have hidden after the Battle of Worcester in 1651 (This is actually ‘Son of Royal Oak’ because the original was destroyed by souvenir hunters about 200 years ago!)
