The Gatehouse of Hertford Castle, with later wings added in 18th and 20th centuries. The building currently houses council offices, and is surrounded by a public park. The castle itself was built in the 12th century by Henry II, and has since almost completely disappeared, leaving only some of the curtain wall. Hertfordshire
