Berwick Bridge, or the Old Bridge, across the R Tweed at Berwick-upon-Tweed, was the fifth bridge to be built here when it opened in 1624. Once on the main north road it now carries local traffic and is preserved as an Ancient Monument (Photo, Christmas 1986)
