Newport Transporter Bridge was built by Ferdinand Arnodin in 1906 to convey workers and vehicles across the River Usk on a moving ‘gondola’ while allowing shipping to pass below on the River Usk. (It is one of 6 surviving out of 20 ever built in the world)
