LUCK & SUPERSTITION

Superstition. Some people really believe in luck, fortune telling, tarot cards, tea-leaves, votive offerings, clooties, the Bampton cake, and that the world would end on 21 October 2011. Collections remains sceptical about these and many other things. All the same most of us have at least one irrational superstition about walking under ladders, breaking mirrors, spilling salt, touching wood, crossing fingers, watching out on Friday the thirteenth. We have a friend who stresses out for days if he accidentally sees the new moon through glass. Still, Collections will admit to owning a black cat (though not on purpose), making a point of walking under ladders, living in No 13 and knowing that next week we are going to win the lottery. We have not made a particular study of these things but here is a pot luck little collection...
