This is an inadequate collection on ethnic groups from all of the rest of the world. The biggest group by far are the ‘Asians’, which in Britain means ‘from the Indian sub-continent’, who make up about 7.5% of the entire population, getting on for four and a half million. Towns like Batley, Bradford, Leicester and Slough each registered more than quarter of their population as of ‘Asian’ origin in the 2001 census. Furthermore it should be noted that Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are Muslims, while Indians are mostly Hindu (not to mention the Sikhs and Tamils) so there is the potential for at least two whole sets of customs – which Collections has failed to cover in any meaningful way. Still here is a taste of Asia - and Japan and Moravia (which is now part of the Czech Republic)
